Questions Clients Ask Before Starting

Before booking a tasting or planning a private event, most visitors want to understand how the estate works, what a visit includes, and how organic farming actually changes the wine. Here are the questions we hear most often at the cave.

When someone walks into the tasting room for the first time, they rarely start with the wine list. They start with practical things: how long a visit lasts, whether children can come along, or what happens if it rains during a vineyard walk. These questions are fair, and they shape how we organize the estate.

One of the most common questions is about the difference between a guided tour and a simple tasting. The tour takes about an hour and a half, includes the chai and the vines, and ends with three cuvées. The tasting alone is shorter and focuses on the current vintage. Both work, but they answer different needs.

Do you need to book in advance?

For the guided tour, yes. The chai is small and we keep groups under twelve people so everyone can hear the explanations and ask questions. For a tasting at the counter, we usually have space without a reservation, but during the portes ouvertes weekends in spring and autumn, it is safer to reserve a slot.

Private events and weddings follow a different calendar. We take those bookings six to twelve months ahead, because the barn space is limited and the harvest season takes priority from mid-September to mid-October.

What does organic farming change in the glass?

This is the question we enjoy answering the most. Organic viticulture means no synthetic herbicides or pesticides in the vineyard. We manage the soil with cover crops and compost, and we rely on natural predators to keep the vines healthy. The result is a cleaner expression of the terroir, especially in the white wines, where the freshness and minerality come through more clearly.

It also means more work in the vineyard. We weed mechanically, we prune by hand, and we harvest selectively. That is why the cuvées are produced in small quantities and why some vintages are released as limited editions.

Can we visit with children or a group of friends?

Children are welcome on the vineyard walk, and we keep the pace easy. For the tasting part, we offer a grape juice option for younger visitors. Groups of friends are common, especially on Saturday afternoons. If you are more than six people, let us know when you book so we can prepare the tasting table and keep the service smooth.

A few things worth knowing before you come

  • Wear comfortable shoes for the vineyard walk; the paths are grassy and can be muddy after rain.
  • Tastings are served with a small plate of local bread and cheese, so you can take your time.
  • We do not ship wine, but you can reserve bottles and pick them up at the cave on your next visit.

If you have a question that is not listed here, the simplest way is to call the cave directly or send a message through the contact page. We answer within a day, and we are happy to help you plan your visit around the harvest calendar or a private event.
